NIPR Trajectory Model
- Trajectory calculation requires data for 5 additional time steps of pre and post data on either side of the trajectory period for accurate cubic spline interpolation in the time domain. Calculation cannot be perfomed when the trajectory period overlaps first or last 5 time steps of the data.
- A missing value (-999) is output when the air parcel exceeds the top level of data or drops below the bottom level of the data or surface.
- The Southern Hemisphere is represented by negative latitudes.
- Longitudes beyond the range of 0-360 degrees are translated into 0-360 degree range.
- If a calculation fails, the trajectory period should be checked to ensure that the period is no more than 10 days and that the trajectory period contains data.
- If no latitude-longitude section is drawn, the latitude range should be checked to ensure it is properly specified.
Meteorological Field Display System
- Contour and color intervals are determined automatically.
- If no latitude-longitude section is drawn, the latitude range should be checked to ensure it is properly specified.
- If no time section is drawn, check that the specified period contains data.
